4th U. S. Cavalry
Wintercamp 2017
You will be falling in with a company of the 4th Regiment of U. S. Cavalry for the week. The 4th U. S. was one of ten regular army regiments that fought through the Civil War and served to defend the Texas frontier following the war. We will attempt to present a fair impression of federal dismounted cavalry while on campaign.
You will be issued a civil war era carbine, uniform, and accoutrements. You will be as well supplied and armed as any REAL soldier from the mid 1800’s. The equipment we use is “replica”, meaning newly made not toy. The 4th U. S. is widely known at reenactments for our safety and discipline.
