About the event

Venturing Crew 1872, Longhorn Council, BSA, invites you to participate with the crew in a national Civil War Battle Reenactment. The Battle of Pea Ridge was the critical victory that helped Federal forces gain control of Missouri and northern Arkansas in the “Tran-Mississippi Theater” during the Civil War.

This event will commemorate the 160th anniversary of this battle and will likely have over 2,000 reenactors. As this is a “national event” you will be asked to participate in one preparatory meeting on a Saturday in April or May, and obtain period correct footwear. These would be brogans or boots. We will be placing a group order for foot ware and a few other personal items you may wish to have of your own.

Crew 1872 and guest will depart Fort Worth on Thursday June 9th and camp near the site. We will tour the Pea Ridge National Battleground on Friday and check in to the reenactment. Saturday and Sunday we will participate in battle reenactments. Sunday afternoon, we will break camp, and relocate to a facility with showers for the night. We should be home in the early afternoon on Monday.

The event cost will be $125 per person (The “Medlock Campership” is available for this event). This cost covers all gate fees, transportation, blank ammunition, food in camp, etc. You will need additional spending money for three meals on the road and souvenirs. Attendance is limited to Crew 1872 members and 12 participants, so please register on-line as soon as you can!

Register through our Square app with a non-refundable $50 down payment, full fee due 2 weeks prior to departure? The  Michael Medlock Memorial Fund Scholarship is avialble for this event.
