About the event
Venturing Crew 1872, Longhorn Council, BSA, invites you to participate with the crew in the living history event, “BATTLEGROUND 1863” at the Texas Military Forces Museum, in Austin Texas. We camp in period correct camp made of white canvas tents. You will be issued uniforms and firearms for the weekend. We will conduct a demonstration battle for spectators at 1pm on Saturday and tour the fort’s museum.
The Cost will be $20 We will provide meals in camp. However on Saturday evening, we will head into town to dine at a fancy, Austin food-truck park, so bring some money for dinner, and we will do our part to keep Austin weird.
You may meet Crew 1872 at Camp Mabry Saturday evening or coordinate with the crew for a ride. We may visit a historic site on Sunday and return to Fort Worth in the afternoon. Attendance is limited to Crew 1872 members and 12 participants, so please register on-line as soon as you can!
